چکیده

The various scales of a signal maintain relations of dependence the ones with the others. Those can vary in time and reveal speed changes in the studied phenomenon. In the goal to establish these changes, one shall compute first the wavelet transform of a signal, on various scales. Then one shall study the statistical dependences between these transforms thanks to an estimator of mutual information. One shall then propose to summarize the resulting network of dependences by a graph of dependences by thresholding the values of the mutual information or by quantifying its values. The method can be applied to several types of signals, such as fluctuations of market indexes for instance the S&P 500, or high frequency foreign exchange (FX) rates.

Time Series Analysis

The analysis of economic time series is central to a wide range of applications, including business cycle measurement, financial risk management, policy analysis based on structural dynamic econometric models, and forecasting. This article provides an overview of the problems of specification, estimation and inference in linear stationary and ergodic time series models as well as non-stationary...

Spatial Econometrics and Political Science

Many theories in political science predict the spatial clustering of similar behaviors among neighboring units of observation. This spatial autocorrelation poses implications for both inference and modeling that are distinct from the more familiar serial dependence in time series analysis. In this paper, I examine how political scientists can diagnose and model the spatial dependence that is pr...

Berry-Esseen bounds for econometric time series

We derive uniform and non–uniform error bounds in the normal approximation under a general dependence assumption. Our method is tailor made for dynamic time series models employed in the econometric literature but it is also applicable for many other dependent processes. Neither stationarity nor any smoothness conditions of the underlying distributions are required. If the introduced weak depen...

Analysis of energy optimization policies in Iran using econometric & decomposition methods

In this research, energy data of the country from 1374 to 1397 are presented and econometric analysis and decomposition analysis methods (Laspeyres and Logarithmic mean Divisia index) are used to identify and determine the effect of activity, structure and energy intensity on energy consumption. The results of econometric method analysis show that the fitted function of energy consumption based...

Determination of Climate Changes on Streamflow Process in the West of Lake Urmia With Used to Trend and Stationarity Analysis

One of the most important hydrological time series task is to determine if there is any trend in the data and how to achieve stationarity when there is nonstationarity behavior in data. Detecting trend and stationarity in hydrological time series may help us to understand the possible links between hydrological processes and global climate changes. In this study yearly, monthly and daily stream...
